Civil and environmental engineering

The degree course in Civil and Environmental Engineering trains professionals able to cover technical roles related to the design of civil works and to work in the field of management and control of territorial and urban systems. Graduates in Civil Engineering are able to carry out independent activities of design, works management, supervision and accounting for simple constructions, and to collaborate with other professional figures in the same type of activities, when referred to complex works, including public ones.

The Course has a solid structure in the basic disciplines of civil and environmental engineering. You will learn about fluid mechanics, the motion of fluids in artificial systems, design, construction management, maintenance and control of transport infrastructures, methods for physical-mechanical modeling of the ground, the response of constructions to stresses, their reliability and safety; you will also study the history of contemporary architecture, foundations of drawing and computer modeling, aspects of thermo-fluid-dynamics, heat transmission, and energetics within the field of civil engineering;
You will find work in various fields, including: computer-assisted design, production, management and organization in technical-commercial structures, freelance and in manufacturing industries or services and in public administrations. The main opportunities are in construction and maintenance Companies, plants and civil infrastructures; professional offices and Companies that design works, industrial plants and infrastructures; public offices that design, plan, manage and control urban and territorial systems. New opportunities are now available to the civil engineer, alongside the more traditional ones. These include: the new requirements of sustainable development, feasibility studies, design, construction, management and control of urban and territorial systems, works, plants and infrastructures.

Graduates in civil engineering are able to work in various fields, including: computer-assisted design, production, management and organization, assistance, technical-commercial structures, both  freelance and in manufacturing industries or services and in public administrations.
The main opportunities are in:
a) construction and maintenance Companies, plants and civil infrastructures;
b) professional offices and Companies that design works, plants and infrastructures;
c) public offices that design, plan, manage and control urban and territorial systems;
d) Companies, bodies, consortia and agencies that manage and control works and services;
e) service Companies carrying out feasibility studies on the urban and territorial impact of the infrastructures.

New opportunities are now available to the civil engineer, alongside the more traditional ones. These include: the new requirements of sustainable development with regard to Planning, feasibility studies, design, construction, management and control of urban and territorial systems, works, plants, infrastructures, innovative elements of a consolidated professional profile.
